anyone managed to mate the two of these? i emailed bryan zublin, but in the search for instant gratification, i figured i'd try here and see if anyone had any info. with the alpine cha-s634 changer and the smartenna, the antenna just acts as it did without the smartenna.

My experience is that the Smartenna works fine with the mp3 changer.

My changer has some skip and skip-recovery issues, though. Sigh, why don't they put a fat memory buffer in these things? A few small shock absorbers on the drive mechanism is not good enough!

Did you set your changer to run vertical instead of horizontal? This is the main cause of skipping.

Yep. I set the selectors on both sides to all the way vertical.

I have the smartenna and the CHA-S634. The combo works fine, however, sometimes when the CHA-S634 is initializing or loading a recently-inserted carrier of discs, the antenna will rise. Then, once the track starts playing, the antenna will retract. I suspect that during the extended load interval of an mp3 CD-R, the datastream is interrupted, and the smartenna thinks it's radio time.
