smaller steering wheel with airbag?

I would like to get a smaller diameter steering wheel as I feel the stock one is larger than necessary. I like the look and feel of the momo and other aftermarket wheels, but I feel I would like to keep the safety of the airbag in the wheel. Is there a good alternative or aftermarket wheel that would preserve airbag, horn and cruise? Is it possible to hook up a steering wheel from another car (s2000 maybe) and preserve these functions? If anyone has done this or has input it is appreciated. (possibly bmw or P car wheels?)
thanks

possible to place cruise-control elsewhere?

I'm keeen on this idea as well, there are some Honda/Acura steering-wheels that I'd be interested in, particularly the European Type_R's & JDM ones.

For what it's worth, Lexus steering-wheels have been swapped w/ success across the model lines w/ some of the older generations (unsure about the current IS, GS, etc'). The wood-trimmed wheels have become sought after amongst enthusiasts who then re-dye the airbag cover / SRS-module to match their interior.

When an airbag is deployed, it exits the airbag-cover through a hidden seam on one side of the airbag cover. This is basically an intentional 'weak' point of the cover, so to speak. For Lexus vehicles, it is across the middle of the airbag-cover running horizontally. Looking at the airbag cover & steering-wheel after deployment, it's as if the cover was cut/slashed from one end to the other.

If anyone knows the pattern of deployment of the NSX driver's airbag from the steering-wheel, then it'd be quite helpful in making some cosmetic mod's to the cover w/o impeding the airbag deployment or raising the risk for potential injury to the driver. Combine that w/ some rubber-padding to make the wheel thicker & re-cover it w/ alcantara or other materials of choice... quite an impressive setup IMHO.

I wouldnt even think of doing anything to the wheel other than dying it if required. It could only make it a dangerous projectile or at the least impair the function of the airbag.

s2000 steering wheel specs:

"Small diameter steering wheel
The 360mm steering wheel offers direct steering response, with an optimised shape and thickness for control and a non-slip, punch-finish leather surface. To further hone steering responsiveness we developed a compact lightweight air-bag module that eliminates the centre offset and reduces the moment of inertia."

OEM wheel is 367mm per SOS, would the difference with the s2000 wheel even be noticed? Most opinions say 350 mm is the way to go
