Does anybody know what the small diaphragm that is connected to the throttle body does? It draws vacuum from the intake between the throttle body and the air box. I traced the linkage down to a small box that has electrical connections under the throttle body. Is this part of the TCS or cruise control? Just wondering as it had fallen off on me once.

Thanks

If your are speaking of the small diaphram type vacuum switch on top of the throttle body, this is the dashpot. It dampens or slows the closing of the throttle plate. Typically, this is an anti-smog device. When you close the throttle quickly, unburnt HC emissions go up dramatically. The dashpot allows the engine to breathe and consume these compounds.

Sorry to bring this short thread back from the dead but....

I need this part and it's discontinued # 16111-PR7-A00

I know I could run without it but would prefer to have it...especially with smog coming up.

Searched a bit, came up with nothing.

Hoping one of our heavily modded guys might have one that they may never use again and might be willing to sell ?

If not, where should I go, what will I do ?!

thx S
