SLK with AMG55 motor!

Not just an ordinary AMG 5.5 liter V8. It's the Brabus K8 package which comes from Brabus with 550HP. This car has a supercharger on top of that with a whole bunch of mods. The end result? 9 second 1/4 miles all day long. I wouldn't be surprised if he hits the 8 second range soon.

Without 4 wheel drive, I would love to watch this guy try to hook up his tires on launch. Do you know him personally?

I've heard good things about these Brabus conversions... they are spec'd at a tire-limited max of about 188 mph (Y-rated tires); with proper race rubber, they are good for approx 210+ mph.

SL55 K8 --> 0-60 in 4.2 sec, etc -- not bad for a slushbox drop-top (!)

Not all mercedes are automatics. You can get the SLK with a stick shift.

The only problem with these Brabus cars is the price. Typical conversions are around $150k. I can think of many other cars I would rather have for that price than a souped up Benz.

The 6-spd is kinda nice, but the throw is a little long for me. I've gotten spoiled by the S2000's "snick!" like performance.

Why did you leave out the Lamborghini nsxtasy listed? You left in all the other cars.

I don't know him personally but I do know of him. His current best 1/4 mile time is 9.6 sec and his top speed is 210mph. He will be doing NOS, and upping the supercharger on it. I am assuming the supercharger will be the factory one.

His other project is a NSX with a viper Hennessey Venom 800 motor. He's going to mod it up to 1000HP and hopes to break that into the 8 second range. I might meet up with him on June of this year to check it out.
