Are there any advantages to silicone hoses over rubber? As far as I can tell, the only difference is that silicone can be made into various colours but costs more.

I had thought resistance to UV radiation was another (which is important if you don't use the OEM engine cover).
Silicone hoses are extremely heat resistant and quite a bit less likely to expand and burst. I have done many P/C conversion for all the heater hoses and radiator hoses and they all have to have them installed before delivery.
True, however very few cars have the engine quite easily exposed to the direct sunlight as the NSX does. Even with it, most if not all of them are under some part of the engine reducing the actual amount of sunlight they see.
I believe that the rear glass will block sone 95% ++ of UV radiation............please correct me if incorrect!
