if it was me, i would remove the vent completely..... take a look for wear marks that all the rattling probably have left in the paint, and try to isolate what exactly is causing it. if you cant figure it out, atleast it will be out and you can apply some sort of gastket to keep it from doing it in the future, and learn a little more about taking your car apart -Ray
