Should TCS light go off when correct tire size goes on?

The wheel company I ordered my wheels made a big mistake with my tire size for the front.
I have 17 x 8 and 18 x 9 custom wheels. Tires on front are 215/45/17 and back are 255/35/18. I know the fronts are wrong and am getting tomorrow new 215/40/17 tires.

My question is will the TCS light stay off and start working correctly when the new front tires are put on tomorrow?

Thanks, appreciate your guys help with this.

Yes, it should stay off and start working correctly.

How do aftermarket wheels affect TCS?

Exactly.

Compared with the stock '91-93 sizes, the diameter of the 215/45-17 is a lot (6.7 percent) bigger and that of the 255/35-18 isn't (0.7 percent). The 215/40-17 will bring it within the threshold for the TCS to work.

Thanks for your help guys, my new front tires were put on today and no more problems. The TCS light is not going on and is working perfectly. I am so happy with my new chrome Katana wheels! They look awesome on my black/black NSX!

If this was the "TCS Activation" light coming on, then you need do nothing else. If it was the "TCS Indicator" light that was coming on, then it's recommended that you pull the fuse (ABS 2.3?) for 3 seconds to clear the DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) which will remain latched in a memory register of the TCS control module. Although the code's not really hurting anything right now, it can cause confusion the next time you need to diagnose the TCS. It stores the last 3 codes, and one should clear out all stored codes after correcting the problems causing them. This is per the '93 service manual.

Thanks Richard for your reply. It was the TCS activation light and everything is fine now. Much appreciated.
