I have the old 1.6 Whipple CTSC kit with the blue FPR and check valve. It's been on my 98' for 14 years and has 26,000 miles on it.
I have an air leak in the bypass hose and I smell gasoline when I floor it. In general it feels very sluggish with slow throttle response. I need to change the bypass hose and get a new belt. Might as well update to the new red FPR, ESM and maybe new fuel lines. You guys recommend any other parts I should update on it?
I've been thinking why don't I just get the new Lysholm based CTSC and sell off my old CTSC for $4-5k? Would the Lysholm be better in anyway than the old Whipple unit? I know the discontinued Autorotor units had lower intake temps and generally more robust than the Whipple units. I don't ever plan on upgrading the ECU or fuel system.
