1991 5-speed NSX here ....

I have my mind on Short-Gears and Final-Drives. ....

What are the differences? Do i need both?

Mainly looking for something to keep the engine in the sweet spot ... not looking for 0-60 % 1/4 mile time, but mainly in getting the engine to operate in a good-area for spirited street driving.

Any info would help!

I've done the shorties and the 4.23 final and I'm very happy in every aspect with it. The final drive is not necessary but like the dot on the i. :)

I did it too after my snap-ring broke. I love it for 0-60 and 1/4 times but on the highway commute its very interesting.

I've got shorties and 4.23, at 70mph I think my engine runs at 3500rpm. Granted, it's not puttering along at 2500rpm sounds, but it's not unbearable. If you have the right exhaust it's very livable and with the radio on, it's an afterthought.
