Hi again,

Would anyone know what the recommended replacement interval is for the stock shocks?

Ditto for the bushings?

(handling seems to be getting mushy)

Thanks in advance.

There's no specified replacement interval. You should replace them when they go bad. If they're mushy, replace them.

Also, since you're replacing them anyway, you might want to consider aftermarket shocks. For example, a lot of people like the Bilsteins and you can get a good price on them from [email protected]

Hmm... what is the normal interval before they go bad? 4 years? 6 years? The car is a '94 with 50k miles. Its got all of its original suspension so those shocks and bushings are 7 years old.

I cant be certain if its truly become mushy or whether my expectations have changed over time. Some general numbers on expected lifespan would be very helpful.

Any info would be appreciated.

Unless one of the shocks blows out, they just get progressively softer. I think there is a spec in the service manual, but by the time you pay to have them removed, tested and re-installed you may as well just replace them anyway, since at 50k miles they are certainly not what they were when new.
