Folks-

Just received my NA-2 NSX Type R shifter boot. I was wondering whether I have to remove the center console to replace the shifter boot? My car has a factory phone as well, so I am fearful to pry open the little control panel imediately behind the current shifter boot to try to locate any screws? Are there any screws beneath the cigarette lighter/ash tray unit for the shifter boot to be replaced? I am not very mechanically oriented and would prefer not to have to delve into taking out the entire center console if I didn't have to.

Thanks in advance-

Nev

You do have to remove the center console to replace the boot. The boot is attatched to the underside of the console. Removing the phone contols is easy, just use something that wont scratch the console.
