And unless you want to have the tacky looking chrome ring banging around the shifter, you probably need to get a new boot to compliment the new knob. Unless you are going back with an OEM one.
Or use the little trick posted on the Dali site where you get a wire tie and turn the chrome ring inside out and wire tie the leather to the shaft of the shifter below the knob.
Even though the NSX console can be removed in 5 min or less if you know what you are doing (I proved it to my wife!) - this isn't necissarily true.
Remove the shift knob, open the center console and remove all the screws (pulls up), then remove the single screw under the center console, then remove the shift knob, then CAREFULLY lift up on the center console and you can squeeze your hand in there and reverse the chrome ring and get a wire tie. It is a tight fit but I have done it 2x this way if you are nervous about removing the clock, vents, and electrical connectors.
