Shark II Install Please Help

I installed the shark II Antenna. FM is fine but AM is all static. There is a red wire and a black wire attched to the Shark II as well as an extended cable and single harness. The antenna wire cable is connected. Does anyone know which line is hot from the original radio harness, or should I just ground the black wire and run the red line to an accessory fuse?
