Ok. This is driving me nuts

I have this strange thing going on in my 91. When I let the clutch out from a dead stop, it feels like the clutch is off center or something. The whole car starts to rattle and shake to the annoying point!

I know its not the clutch going out because it is new. I have also noticed that other 91's I have been in have this problem too while others do not. Is it my motor mounts?

Any suggestions or comments?

Thanks in advance.

While my experience with NSXs is limited, I have owned and worked on American muscle cars most of my adult life. This is a common ocurrance in these types of cars and is caused by the surface of the flywheel being uneven. As you release the clutch when launching the car, the pressure plate brings the friction plate in contact with the flywheel providing a connection to the transmission input shaft. If the flywheel surface is uneven, a shudder will occur through the driveline when the friction plate begins to make contact. This wear on the flywheel is normal to a certain extent, but exacerbated by hard launches and burnouts. When your clutch is replaced, your flywheel should also be resurfaced at the same time.

Lud and all...

Thanks for the information! I will attempt to re-center the engine on the mounts. My motor was just removed/replaced last week and thats when I noticed it being worse than usual.

It is just strange due to this problem being worse on certain days than on others. I feel like the Honda gremlins are having a picnic in there...It drives me crazy sometimes!

I will post if this works.

Thanks Again
