Hello members,

Can anyone refer me to a reputable shop to lower my NSX other than Autowave in Huntington Beach. I live in Riverside/ Corona area. Most of the dealerships will not install any aftermarket parts. Thanks for any response!!

If you don't mind driving it to San Diego you can go to Jerry at Greenlight

Highly recommended.

I'm in Redlands and intend on taking mine to Ramon. I've received a number of recommendations that "he's the man".

On another note...My new OEM Bridgestones are arriving at Bud's Tire and Wheel tomorrow (Shipped directly to them from TireRack), and they supposedly have a brand new high-end Hunter alignment machine that I'm going to subject the NSX to.

I keep wondering to myself if it is really necessary to go to an NSX specialist just to lower the car. I have swapped out my suspension on the NSX over 4 times, and I don't think there is anything any basic suspension mechanic couldn't figure out. And my mechanic abilities are very limited.

For other things, I could understand why you might want to go to a NSX specialist. But think with the suspension, extensive knowledge of the NSX is unnecessary.

I figured you just have to find someone that you can trust and will take care of the car, but doesn't necessarily have to be a NSX specialist.

What's your opinion?

How's something to consider...

I have a Chevy, and it's perfectly acceptable to lift the front corner by putting a jack under the lower A-arm. But I'm sure you know, that is not acceptable for an NSX.

Case in point, I just talked to a local NSXer who took his NSX to a generic shop. They lifted his front corner using the above method and, as you would expect, bent his front suspension.

Granted, no one is perfect and all shops make mistakes, but there is no telling what a shop might do that seems unrelated to the mechanical work you are having done. (i.e. lifting the car to change the springs.) The risk seems less with an experienced NSX shop.
