Seemed like a good idea at the time...Clutch pedal helper spring

So I was trying to adjust the play in my clutch pedal and decided to make room by popping the spring out. Came out REAL easy, gave me room, but now I can't get it back in. I'm out of ideas and basically my car is immobile till I can get this thing back on...ugh. Any ideas out there? Looking at it, it doesn't seem like even going the "long" way and undoing the master cylinder would help (which is what I was trying to avoid and subsequently cost WAY more time than just doing it in the first place).

I just looked in the manual to see what you are up against because of the lack of responses from others. I have not messed with the spring but is there a way for you to compress it to the "install size", lock it in that state with wire, and then install it? Once it is installed you can cut the wire used to hold it compressed.
I hope this is useful. Let me know.
