Seat Choice?

I am sure this question has been asked many times before, so any links would be appreciated.
What is a good seat for daily driving, yet good enough for occasional (2-4 per year) track use. I have always liked Bride and Sparco seats for their looks alone, but have no idea which one is better in comfort and grip.
I am also 6'4" and need a seat that can recline so I can fit where I need to. Will I also need a slider? Is this going to make the seat sit higher than stock? Stock height is just about at my limit right now. Are there low rise sliders?
Also, how much can a set of ivory NSX seats sell for? The drivers side has some wear on the bolster, but the passenger seat is perfect condition.
Sorry for all the questions, but I want to make a good choice.

What about this? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-...012QQitemZ220123118382QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

Buddy club makes a low rise slider that should give you an inch or so. With the Buddy Club seat you could gain 2-4 inches over stock.

I remove my seat cushion and throw in a carpet sample rectangle. The side bolsters hold you in real tight. This can be uncomfortable on a 2-3 hour drive but it is great for a 20-40 minute track session. You can set it up so the cushion is easily removed for the track and replaced for the long trips.

How about the Pro 2000? You can lean it back in the mount.
I don't like the Pro 2000. The sides have a bump up where your elbows are which is extremely intrusive when turning the steering wheel. Your elbows hit the sides of the seat and restrict your range of motion on the wheel. If you sit in the seat with the seat back at 90* then it wouldnt be as big of an issue (but still will be). I like to have a reclined seating position and I really dont like the Pro2000 because of the side bolsters. Look at a pic and you'll notice an unnecessary bump upwards where your elbows should be.

I would love a link to their site. What is a good seat that they carry?

Does anyone have the Sparco Evo now? Can you tell me how you like it? It looks like it is not reclinable, is that correct? http://www.sparcousa.com/pseats_comp.asp?id=468

Thanks for all the helpful advice so far!
I had EVOs in my other car, and have had them in many race cars. I love that seat and it is an approved (FIA/SFI....) racing seat. Yes it dosnt recline, but then again no true 'racing' seat reclines.

I have always liked the look of that seat, but is it comfortable enough for daily driving?

Do the Evo's recline? I don't think so. I have a set on Sparco Milano's and I find them very comfortable for daily driving duties, and occasional track events as well. They will, however raise the seat height a little when using the Taitec rails.

Do the Evo's recline?

They have holes in the side mounts to recline. I don't think any adj. reclining seat is (FIA/SFI) approved.

EVOs are comfortable for Daily Driving IMO - but then again, i'm pretty young and that might not be an accurate comparison for others.

The evos do not recline like a factory seat. Yes their are a few holes in the side when used with seat rails to adjust the tilt of the whole 1-piece seat but that requires un-bolting and re-bolting the seat onto the seat brackets.

I'm pretty sure no reclinable seat is SFI/FIA approved. But seats that are (like the milano) can be used for HPDE events, but not for actual races.

EVO's sound good. How much are the sliders and where can I get them? How much higher do the EVO's sit over stock, if any?
Try sitting in one at a race shop/tuner shop/etc... You can get the sliders from wherever you get the sparco EVO seat from.

Look under distributors at www.sparcousa.com

It will sit MUCH lower, depending on how you mount it, I can have PLENTY of room while wearing a helmet in the NSX and i'm 6'0" with a really long torso.

Great! I have been worried about hitting the track with a helmet because I am very close to hitting now. Thanks for the info.

Also, a local guy has a set of Sparco Torino 2's for sale. What do you think for $700? Are they good seats?

They are not like the EVO  you will sit taller but that's a good price but you won't fit in the car so..........it will look great in the driveway?

The Torino's are very much like the Milano's in that they do recline, but they sit on top of their sliders making them sit slightly higher than stock seats.

They won't be that comfortable on the track for tall people (head in roof). SIT IN THE EVOs first to see if you can live with them on the street for daily driving (I can, and they're the most livable racing seat IMO for dd).

It's a great price and you said you dont track but a handfull of events a year so it might be a good idea for you, but first check out the evos, if you like them, id definatly reccomend them, especially if your'e tall because you will sit lower than torinos -good for helmet and track, good for daily driving sitting lower and more comfortable IMO...

Any thoughts on the Recaro SPG's???

I would like to know about those as well. I have been looking at the SPG and Pole Position seats from Recaro, and cannot tell which is best for fit and grip, yet comfortable for extended trips. I am about a 30 inch waste, so I want to make sure that I am comfortable.

We have Pole Positions in the Factor X NSX. They fit no problem but i'm 6'0" and had to modify the seat brackets a tiny bit to be able to fit in the car with my helmet on. But now that I did it, I sit REALLY low in the car and have 2" of clearance from the roof (while being 6'0" -all of which is torso).

Pole Positions were a pretty comfortable seat, the Sparco EVO is still my favorite and would be a little tighter and hold you in better than the PP for a 30" waist. You can't go off of internet forums to say whether you like a seat or not. You can learn if its a PITA to fit the specific seat in the car, or the clearance, but as far as how well it holds you in, how comfortable, etc... - GO SIT IN ONE
