Season Premier of 24 tonight

DAMN! This will cut into the Tom Selleck movie on CBS & chat tonight. I wanted to hear the saga of Prova & Meeyatch's date to see Brokeback Mountain last weekend

pretty good first episode eh? Jack is getting pretty ruthless in his old age it seems. Lot of big events right off the bat. Maybe some actors were getting greedy and wanted to much money this season.

Yeah Elisha Cutbert. What season is it already. We're in season one here President Palmer is dethroned from his position.

Last night was the first episode that I've ever watched and it was great. I'm going to have to get the first few seasons on DVD to catch up with the plot.

Ah, I remember when I did that. I always ended up asking myself:

"It's 3am in the morning, should I play one more episode?"

[play] button pressed

OMG, that first episode was a shocker...can't believe I hadn't seen season one until last summer and I'm especially glad I was able to catch up before season 5 began. For those of you new to 24, those were very significant characters who got bumped during the first hour.

Awesome show! Too bad I don't have HD yet because I've gotten spoiled by the DVD widescreen presentation (and 5.1 DD sound). FOX broadcasts in 4:3.

Don't forget that there are another two episodes tonight...don't know how I'm going to wait a week for more. I've gotten used to watching episodes daily...heck, I think I've watched as many as twelve in a single day!

Oh, that was awesome last night. I can't wait for the conclusion tonight.

I think I want to get all 5 [or whatever] seasons there are for my birthday

And Jack is ruthless. But he was actually nicer about it......I am sure he is just tired of being picked on lol

We have fox in HD here and OMG, 24 is freaking amazing in HD with 5.1. It is like watching a movie every week.

you should!

I got my parents hooked on it now.

I got them season 1 (the very first) so they can get caught up on it....oh man, were they hooked!

I know what you mean about having to wait week to week. I loved just sitting home one day and just watching like 6 hours @ a time lol

Same here, plus it was my first time watching the show, I think I need to get the first season

Best TV show! I was hook since season 1. Check out www.dvdtalk.com for some great deals on TV show DVDs. Sometime it's being offered at Costco, BestBuy, deepdiscountdvd, etc.

Why can't we have this every night? Damn..I"m going to miss David and Michelle (she's HOT). So far, it seems like they're making a version similiar to DIE HARD?

That's what I expeceted...the production values on this show have been consistently very high and the DVDs are exceptionally good. I can only imagine what the HD experience is like.

Nice thing about moving / remodeling this year is that I'm going to be setting up my new family room with a full HD home theater and upgrading all of my components in the process. I need to start researching which gear to buy soon and will likely buy a LCD panel (likely a 40" Sony Bravia) as a temporary display (to eventually be moved into our master bedroom) until newer set technologies become available later this year (1080p SED or FED). Of course this will all come way too late for enjoying the current season of 24...but my hope is to have stuff in place for PlayStation 3's launch.

My wife's former coworker is the one who hooked us in, lending us season one and two last summer. Her former coworkers bought us season three as one of her farewell gifts when she quit last year. I bought season four just days before our trip to Vietnam and encoded it to PSP so we could travel with Jack. We went through 24 withdrawl shortly after we finished watching it...we finished it mid-way through our trip.

Yeah, both of us are really hooked. We convinced my mom to check it out last night and she's now hooked (we'll have to get seasons 1 and 2...so she can catch up). My mom referred to last night's show as a mix of Fugitive and Die Hard, movies she loves.

i've been watching 24 since the beginning, and i was BLOWN AWAY by last night's first ten minutes! great season opener, and can't wait 'til tonight!

I just can't seem to get into this show for some reason. I miss out on all the 'water cooler' talk about it at work the next day too. I've never watched it so I can't say I don't like it for any reason but just never seem interested in it enough.

Ive never missed a single episode since the shows been on TV. Thank you Tivo

24 is boring, predictable and unimaginative. It's always the same old crap. One week Jack is the hero, the next week he was a bad boy and gets kicked out out of CTU until the next slly crisis when he has to come and save the day. Ho hum blah blah blah......

If you've never watched The Shield then you don't know what you're missing. Season 5 just started 2 weeks ago. However you can rent seasons 1 through 4. I guarantee that from the first episode you'll be hooked. It's on FX Tuesday nights at 10pm so you can start TIVO'ing season 5 until you're caught up. If you missed the first 2 episodes of season 5 you can easily find them on Usenet or using those lame Bitorrents.

Thank me later. :)

Two plot faults: I can buy Jack still knowing the main CTU # to call. I can't buy that he had current #s for Chloe and Curtis after 18 months away and that everybody knows everybody else's cell phone # or that no one's batteries ever die.

This year seems kind of repetitive from last season. Last year they kidnap William Devane & Audrey as a cover for the nuclear power plant computer virus which is itself camo for the missile. This year they take over an airport as a diversion to get at the nerve gas that just happens to be hidden at the airport. And what kind of background checks and security do they run when CTU and the White House staff always have a couple of spies floating around?

I still love the show, just wish they would smarten it up some. And Jean Smart has big 'uns.
