Yes, it can. It has a built-in voltage switch that when the reverse gear is selected, it will automatically switch to the rear-camera video input. It's a very slick feature.

Hi Chris,

I would like to know how the pod is mounted to the dash and if there is any permanent damage done if it (the dash) if it were to be removed in the future.

ChrisK did this setup. He describes some of it in this AcuraWorld.com thread. He mounted the camera lens in the rear key slot. Very cool!!!

No damage is done when the pod is mounted. The factory screws into the dash, however, this is not needed. We've been working on a trick die-stamped bracket to affix the display pods, however, it has taken a back-burner to some projects as of late.
