Need a little help. Anyone have any experience taking apart the center console? My project is to install a short shifter kit which requires the removal of the center console. I just need someone to walk me through so I don't crack or ruin anything.

I'll take you to lunch afterwards:biggrin:

I've taken mine out before.

See http://www.blazen.com/mike/nsxmanual/page.php?page=869

Removing the center air vent is probably the trickiest step.
For releasing the clips, a thin flexible piece of plastic may work
better than the screwdriver method shown in the shop manual.

If you can't get anyone more local to you to help, I could stop
by; I'll be passing through your area on the morning of April 10.

Thanks Tom. I'll be at work that day so I'll have to figure it out myself. Thanks for the illustration too.

Alright! Took the day off today to work on my project. Removing the center console was a snap with the help of the step-by-step illustration that scorp965 found. Thanks again!

So this is what I completed today:

-installed short shift kit (reduced throws by 20%)
-removed plastic oem shift boot ring and re-tied the boot to fit my aftermarket shift knob
-tightened up the cable for the E-brake (it used to pull up too high)

Got a lot done just by removing that center console.

What's up Eddie?

After sitting in your car and running through your gearbox with your short shifter, it motivated me to get mine installed. That piece has been sitting in my garage for 8 mos. I'm very satisfied with the results.

Whats up Simon! Wow you had it for that long? Well don't feel bad I have my navpod for over a year and have not installed it yet either....nice to see you though amd I'll catch you at the meet.

Oh, just so everyone knows, the short shift kit was made by TitaniumDave (dave). I purchased it directly from him but you can find his product sold on SOS and Dali.

Having driven my NSX for the past couple of days I have to say this is one of the best mods I've done to the car!
