A week or so ago, I had just finished detailing my baby and I thought I'd take her up to the Tramway on the west side of the Sandia mountains here in Albuquerque. The Sandia Peak Tramway is the longest of its type in the world, and the mountains glow a beautiful pink color as the sun sets. You can see the color progression from one picture to the next as the setting sun brings out the color in the rocks. It's much more gorgeous in person!

The tram is on it's way back up, and the Sandias are turning pink!

Nice pics - nice memories, I used to live right down the street, address was actually Tramway Circle!
If you want a fun drive, take the road up the backside of the hill to the summit - its a blast, used to do that on my FZR-1000 - great road for a sport motorcycle, but probably as much in an NSX too!
I miss NM for being able to "let-go" a bit - my subsequent moves to TX & CA took all the fun out!

Funny you mentioned the back side of the Sandia mountains......I did my very first "spirited" Albuquerque-area drive in the NSX on that road. The way up was a blast, and I learned all about brake fade on the way back down as well (that was rather, um, exiting!)

Nice to have someone else here on Prime who knows New Mexico!

One of my favorite day trips was to go out through Bernalillo up to San Ysidro, then it gets fun from there up to Jemez Springs then over through Los Alamos & down into Santa Fe. Then take 22 back down through Madrid & on down to I40 back into ABQ.
That is a nice Sunday drive.

I haven't done that trip in the NSX yet.......thanks for the suggestion! Maybe I can get a local NSXCA event together to make this trip soon.

I drove the back-side of Sandia in my s2k about 2 yrs ago and am looking forward to making the same drive in my NSX. The drive is nothing short of exhilarating -- nothing but twists and turns on a tree-lined mountain road.

I've driven it and had a blast until I got pulled over by a park ranger and given a speeding ticket. I was fortunate that I had come up behind "slower" traffic when he got me or else the ticket would have been worse than it was. It is a beautiful drive but be careful about the rangers. They do have radar. I had just gotten my car and didn't have a radar detector in the car so I don't know if they leave it on or not. I have seen them sitting in pull offs hidden from the road to check for speeders on occassion.

Beautiful view and car viper! I see that you are running the GTCs Face 2 in the rear and Face 1 in the front. May I ask what are the sizes and offsets, tire sizes, and suspension setup please? Do both the front and rear wheels run perfectly flush with the fenders? TIA for your reply.

Like you said, I'm running Face1 in the front and Face 2 in the rear. The sizes are:

Front: 18x8, offset +36, tires 225/35/18

Rear: 18X10, offset +37, tires 275/35/18

I'm running Eibach springs and stock shocks. No spacers are required, although I had to modify the inner plastic fenderwell on the left side to stop rubbing when the wheels would be turned all the way to the right. I'm running stock brakes, and there is a TON of clearance in the front and a little clearance in the rear.

The wheels seem to be pretty close to flush with the fenders. I think they stick out far enough......anything more and they would not look right.

Hope this helps......

Love the black on black rims ... that photo reminds me of Knightrider. :D

OMG.......you didn't just say that, did you? Now I hate these wheels!

(ha ha) :D

Sorry Viper Driver... but be thankful I didn't ask if you look like David Hasselhoff... :D :D :D
(oh no PhoeN$X, don't post that photo again! ;))

Now people will be asking for a photo of your NSX's dashboard. :p

Seriously though.... beautiful photos of a beautiful car.

Very nicely put together NSX. The gunmetal Volk GT-C goes nicely against the black. Awesome photos aswell.

PS: I did a little photoshop work on one of your photos for fun. I hope you don't mind. :D It was a 10 min chop, so I am sorry about the quality.
