on the SOS site it said for NA2 97 + nsx
however it said too that it fits all years of NSX..
can it fit a pre 97 model?

Thanks in advanced

I can't imagine that. I have a custom made Sachs clutch in my '98 cp with the use of a CT light flywheel (the lightest they have). It's a totally different thing than the pre '98 clutches (single disc versus double disc) with other measures. OTOH Sachs Racing Germany can build nearly every clutch you want if they have all the measures (and a flywheel). You should contact SoS or Sachs U.S.A. or Sachs Germany.

The SoS site is correct, it will fit.

The newer 6 speeds have a shorter mainshaft, so you cannot go the "other way", as in put a dual plate in a 6 speed, but you can put a single palte in a 5 speed.

However, you need to purchase the flywheel  , so it can get a little on the $$$ side. Chris has laid out the pricing accordingly.

Thanks guys for the input..
I emailed Chris early this morning already.. havent heard his reply and btw I need the clutch by friday!!! ahh in order to make to the lime rock event

Hi Andrie,

I did not know the 6 speed NSX-R used a dual plate. Well I think it must be a special mainshaft, or a totally different clutch setup. Is this in regard to a 3.0 based NSX-R or a newer model??

Did the NSX-R always have a 6 speed, all years??

Very Curious :).

EDIT: After a short review of the FAQ I only see the 5 speed for the NSX-R, so You must be refering to a late model NSX-R??

Hi because SOS is out of Centerforce so I decided to go with Dali's ACT clutch.. I ordered and emailed Dali still no reply so far.. I emailed them regarding overnight or 2 days the clutch to me.. I hope that they can make it since I would not want to miss the lime rock etc.... sighhh

Just reading up on some different clutches and was wondering how the Saches clutch feels?
Also, to make this fit on a NA1 NSX, could you use a flywheel out of a 97+ NSX?

The Sachs is only a disc and pressure plate, so it will not work with your 5-speed.

The NSX-R and Type-S are unique as they use the twin disc clutch - resulting in a mainshaft with two splines, and have gear positions for the 6-speed. You can transplant this into your later model 1997+ and run a twin disc. However, it's fairly cost prohibitive, and most of our customers opt to use the Comptech clutch or Exedy's new Hiper Single is possibly a good pick as well (in-house testing going on now).

We have the Centerforce clutch in stock now if you need one.

I'm actually going to get with you about the ACT Clutch probably by the end of this month. I'm trying to balance finances so that I can have enough to purchase a clutch and have it installed also as that's a hefty chunk of change.
