Very disappointed end for a meeting that was going good.

soflasume09.jpg

I am not only a paying S2ki member but also a ex-S2000 owner and still active member in south FL, i was treated with HOSTILITY b/c my NSX was in front, here is how it went:

While, as you can see on the pic above, my NSX was on the front, I was asked in a JACK ASS way, to "MOVE MY CAR SO MEMBERS CAN TAKE A PICTURE" ... But it could be very different IF the guy (i have no idea who he is) came and say, "Please, can you move you NSX a bit" instead he screamed, "WHO IS THE NSX OWNER, WILL YOU MOVE YOUR CAR SO --WE-- CAN TAKE A PICTURE OF OUR MEMBERS" that with an ARROGANT and ASS tone of voice, why I am sure he did the arrogant voice? B/c As soon I was going there to move my car -I had no problem with that- people started to boooooooo at me and laugh like I was some kind of a CLOWN or a total DOUCHE BAG, very EMBARRASSING

The reason for that is because ME and some of our South Florida group members decided to make a photoshoot of us, (like 8-12 cars, including an ELISE that is also, ex S200) owner) with my NSX in front, that was the plan and It was a "cute idea" ... my NSX as many of you know has Honda badges etc etc, while we were arranging our cars 80 other S2000's came.

I was not going to even TOUCH that, but already I saw @ S2ki:

"The only comments I heard were that the photo shoot seemed a little confused and that the NSX and Elise were nice they should have been on the side and not front and center. Several comments that, "this was an S2000 meet and how about I put my Excursion up front!""

WTF??

Oscar
I am very disappointed .. i though it was cool to bring my NSX to the event.

What if it was an Integra at a NSX meet sitting upfront of the picture just looking all outta place? Why'd u even park it THERE in the 1st place? Not ridiculing you...just wondering?

Im on a lot of forum now days and I have noticed that car specific meets are being crashed by owners of other makes, models, types, etc and I just dont get it. Catch a ride with a owner or if you do show..part away from the cars.

The Event invitation, was for S2000's but also posted here on Prime as NSX's welcomed (we had 2 there) also it was clear that it was for ex S2000 owners, plus If you read, I didn't have problem moving my car @ all, the problem was the WAY i was asked, and the way people reacted, I was letting that go but then I see people talking about, that makes me frustrated b/c if you were in my shoes you'd be amazed and embarrassed in the same time.

That was the problem.

Oscar come on:rolleyes: On so many levels there are going to be so many reactions to that pic.You have to be ready to accept every negative vibe.I used to to be a concurrent nsx/s2000 owner, guess what ,I took my nsx to exactly one s2000 meet, never again. So even though I had an nsx I always went to s2000 meets with the stook.I'd say at least 50% of those s2000 owners thought the "guy" with the nsx up front was a douchebag, sorry it gos down like that, but thats human nature. Next time you join in try being as low key as possible.I'm sure the crowd will warm up to you eventualy.

I understand, what you say makes sense, I was low key until I made a mistake of putting my car in front, lesson learned ...

oh well ....

Yea man...I mean your mad because of how some KID asked you to do something? Doesnt that seem kinda childish? If people are going to get mad about how people talk, man we'd all be pissed at the world. Hey at least he asked and didnt say:

Hey, owner of the NSX...move ur car! lol

At least he asked. And if it was me...I wouldnt have parked my banana boat up front lol

No harm no foul man. Don't take it too harshly. I took my NSX to a Fit meet once and got booted to the back of the lot. I think my car only squeaked into a couple pics, but even at that, it was off to the side.

But since it was a Fit meet I didn't think twice about it, I am sure a few folks rolled their eyes but I didn't take it personally.

2 cents.

PS One of these days going to barge one of the NSX meets in my bone stock Fit.:biggrin:

Oscar,

sorry to hear man.

me personally would never have a problem if a ferrari decided to park infront of group of nsx's but thats my opinion. I think it was just handled wrong and taken out of context. It was not my event, but I would have just politely asked to move the nsx so they could have gotten a group shot of only the s2ks if they wanted too.

wish I had my car, I would have planned an afternoon of driving with ya!

im still patiently waiting...

ps chance your aviator back to nsx ; )

Wow! The S2k crowd love us out here. They even follow us in huge groups to super car meets with us and arrive BEFORE us!

At most of the NSX meets in socal there are a few S2ks that show up. Especially the guy with that really nice widebody one.

There was even a girl here with an S2k from s2ki that organized an NSX karaoke event and she came with her s2k.

About a month ago I found an S2k meet a few blocks from my house so I went (i posted i was interested with an NSX and they said to come out). Although I did park a few parking spaces away from the group... it was a fun time!

I guess Hollywood is just that much different than Hollywood.

It's sad when this kind of stuff happens because it discourages you from attending other car/model events. Unfortunately, I've had similar occurrences.

Last year, we had this Lambo Dude sneak into our NSX pictures too...how lame.:biggrin::biggrin::wink:

Oscar, that's sad that it went down like that!

It's strange you know...I was invited to a large central Florida Accord meet at an Orlando park just this past Saturday and experienced the complete opposite of what happened to you! My best friend has a 7th gen. Accord and asked if I'd like to tag along to the meet. When I pulled up, as a courtesy, I intended to park away from the group so they could take pictures of all their cars together. However, when the Accord guys heard an NSX was coming they not only suggested, but demanded that I park front and center in the middle of their ring of cars. I was honestly surprised and honored when they did that! The Accord guys are truely a hospitable and friendly group. I look forward to attending meets with them again because of this.

IMHO, there are always going to be ppl who have a bit of envy, or assume you think you are better then them (obviously not the case here). This perception led to the "rude" comments. In these situations, you should have just parked away from the S2k's not to stand out. I like what brooklands NSX did @ the accord meet, he approached the situation like this and the outcome was much more positive.

Big difference in the mind set of an accord group vs a s2000 group as it relates to the nsx.

I have found that also, even from relatives with S2000!

Don't sweat it so much. Be offended if you must, wallow it in for a couple minutes, and then promptly discard it.

I don't get that with our NSX/S2k meets but, if I ever did, I'm fairly sure the S2K social director would say something to me personally or to the jacktard that I offended in whatever way. Either way, meh, be the bigger person.

There must be something in a Lambo Owner's manual that says "WHEN AT CAR MEETS, PARK WITH YOUR DOORS OPEN."

(It must be to show off the aerodynamic lines of open-door automotive engineering.)

Sorry, but I don't see the magic allure of having to display doors open.
