I'm currently contemplating on which car to get:
obviously the G35 is a totally different class from the RSX-S but is there anything the RSX is better than the G35 at other than the smaller price tag? Also, if N/A modded RSX Type S was modded till its equivalent to the G35 at straightline acceleration, would it still be inferior to the G in street performance? mainly handling?

thanks for the input guys =)

I would go with the G35C hands down.

1. The G35 is much sexier looking
2. The G35 is very luxurious in comparison
3. The G35's V6 has almost another 100 hp
4. Best of all, the G35 is rear wheel drive

i guess on the type S you get the singing 8 thousand RPM redline.

do not doubt these little 8k rpm toys potential.even in stock trim they are very quick on the launch and will keep up with the G35.

both are great cars...
still, i would choose the G35 coupe in a heartbeat. 6MT of course.
G35 C = sexy and sophisticated
RSX-S = slightly more refined ricer boy integra

There is also the courtesy factor that comes with the ride with more class.

G35 very nice car..

RSX is high on insurance, not nearly as classy as the G35.. bleh.. just get the G35 and be happy.

x

G35 coupe for sure. No comparison. The RSX-S is OK, but it doesn't compare to the G35 in any way. Of course, it is 10K cheaper.

G35c - hands down. I'd buy a used 6 speed, but maybe I'm just cheap.

Here's what the RSX has on the G35:
(1) While I haven't seen the "improved" interior on the 2005 G35, the RSX interior is a nicer piece with better materials and far better fit and finish. (2) The RSX Will probably get a lot better real world MPG than the G35
(3) The hatch on the RSX is much more useful than the relatively small space behind the seats in the Infiniti
(4) The price difference between a new RSX-S vs. a new G35 6 speed is a bunch of $ (relatively speaking)

Here's what the G35 has over the RSX
(1) Absolutely everything else

G35 Coupe > RSX-S

cause I use to have one...nuff said....

Why not look into a M3? It seems like a lot of people who buy G35's move up to M3's really quick unless they are die hard nissan fans

The RSX had a higher quality interior.

The G35 is much, much better-looking from the outside. When I was shopping for something a little bit faster, I did consider both cars, briefly. But, the G35, especially for the money, was a serious disappointment.

I was looking for a 2+2 then b/c I have a couple kids. Once I said fk 'em, they don't need to ride in it, I went w/ the NSX. A friend or another owns any other car that is a higher-end 2+2, short of Astons and the like, and I wanted something different.

The RSXS is just a lot cheaper vehicle. If price is no object here, it's a superior car. But, as everyone has adroitly pointed out, it costs a freakin bunch more money.

check out the new 2005 RSX-S... I think youll be pleasantly surprised  Try that blaze orange color or the nighthawk black.

I was in the same situation you were last yr. and I went w/ the G35. The RSX was way too cheap looking on the inside and the perf. was nothing compared to the G. Much faster, better looking, and better performing. G35 hands down and they look great w/ some 19's on it. Mine is in my signature if you want to check it out.

Good luck....................

The main reason i'm considering these two is because insurance premium for RSX $14xx/ 6mths and G35 $8xx / 6mths. I don't wanna pay 500+ for(I get nothing out of paying insurance) more for a 20k car if its not anywhere near the G35.
I like the RSX-S mainly because of aesthetics and how well the k20 responds to minimal N/A mods(yeah i'm honda-biased )

anyway, does the G35 have some kind of technology similar to the vtec and that 'boost' feel that the RSX-S has when vtec does kicks in? and also that vtec revving sound i just love?

and also wouldn't the weight of the G make it more sluggish at the twisties when compared to the RSX-S?
