In what must be some kind of ironic symmetry, Roger Penske bought the whole can of cheese wiz from the Hulman-George family.
I hadn't realized Ms. (Mari) Hulman-George had passed away, but I think her passing may have led the way; (possibly even requiring it in her will). The whole Tony George / CART / IndyCar ego trip has nearly ruined the sport. Mr. Penske has usually been a neutral owner, wanting to race cars, entertain fans (think the California Speedway when he owned it) and keep the spotlight away from himself (except for winning races).
As a lifelong fan of Indy Car racing and especially the 500, I'm pretty excited about it.
