I was having a noise issue with my a steering rack for quite sometime so I had Niguel Motors replaced the inner and outer tie rods thinking it was bad. Unfortunately it didn't solve the issue. So last year I took my car to West End Alignment to install a Knock Bushing within the steering guide rod hoping it will eliminate the noise with no success. At this time both tie rods were replaced again for the second time. Darin the owner of West End diagnosed the noise to be inside the steering rack assembly. So I bought a used manual steering rack from Shawn and had Niguel motors install it. This has SOLVED the noise issue - no noise or knocks when turning the wheels whatsoever.
So this vendor has advertised rebuild service for the manual steering rack here. I registered in the RockAuto website, followed all instruction to send out my old steering rack hoping that it will be rebuilt. I sent the paypal payment of $299.24 on Feb 6 2015. FedEx shipping to Cardone in Texas cost me $25. After more than a week I got an email saying that they need the tie rods to rebuild the steering rack. I called in and explained that the steering rack is bad and not the tie rods. I also gave them Niguel Motors info so they can verify this.
So today they just informed me that they already shipped back my steering rack and that they didn't find anything wrong with the steering rack. It just blows me away thinking how come they can't rebuilt the steering rack without the tie rods? I believe this company made a false advertisement -and its simple they don't have the expertise and knowledge in rebuilding nsx steering racks.
I don't think Darin and Ramon will mis diagnosed the issue in my steering rack knowing their caliber in their fields and expertise with the NSX. Anyways, I was partially refunded $287.65.
So this false advertising has cost me $25+$12 and my time for nothing. A very bad experience with this company. Don't waste your time STAY AWAY.
