Ok, I think I am going for the RM racing brake pads. Anyone have any list minute advice? They are about 100 bucks more than the OEM pads, but it sounds like they are worth it.

Thanks

They are WELL worth it. I really love the initial grip and how well they hold up at the track. They "may" be a little harder on rotors, they dust more then stock, and they sometimes make a slight squelling sound coming up to a light. If you want better braking performance this is the first place I would start.

Make sure you follow the FAQ bedding proceedure as well...

YMMV.

I've been using these pads for years and I have never ever had them squeal.

I don't know why that aspect of my experience is different from Nick's. Maybe it's because I never bother stopping for lights.

Great pads, I love 'em.

Ken makes a good point that I didn't say.

They squeal only like 5% of the the time and only when going like 2-3 mph up to a light with light pressure on the brakes. Also - this only happens when I have gone several days since washing out all the black brake dust.

I once asked RM if this was normal and he said others had reported this from time to time as well. Again - as Ken states - well worth the money IMO and for most people that buy from their local dealer - they are LESS then OEM.

I too have used these pads. Break them in right and the grip is fantastic. I did, however, have one pad fail. It separated from the backing plate and stranded me at an event with no brakes. (Thanks Vytas for your help on that one!)
