A buddy of mine on the East Coast got his start with Ray Charles. He toured the world with Ray for two years in the 70's. He said he was a hell of a guy.
I've only seen Ray once in person. Great band, great show.

From what I hear the recording studio where RC got his start is now a historical landmark.
