New to this site, never posted before. I have a question about rims and tires. I just picked up a 1999 NSX-T, all stock suspension but it came with 18x8.5 (front) with a 38mm offset and 19x8 (rear) with a 45mm offset rims. There are new front tires Yokohama S-Drives 225/35/18 and new rear tires Yokohama S-Drives 255/40/19. I have rubbing issues on certain uneven roads. I am looking to change out the rims and tires but like the look of the 18's on the front and 19's on the rears. I have been looking through the forums and there seem to be a lot people on here with experience with different rims and tire set ups. Here is my question: I would like to put 18x8 on the front with a 40mm offset and 19x10 on the rear with a 40mm offset. Tire size: front - 215/35/18; rear - 265/30/19. Has anyone used this set up on a stock suspension? If you have, what was your experience? Or if you have any other suggestions that would work, please let me know your thoughts. Thanks in advance!

The wheel & tire sizing you're looking to go to is great.
Might I suggest, however, a very small amount of lowering? Just get Bilstein struts and put them on the lower perch. This is the cheapest, best and time proven upgrade because it solves multiple problems in one go: 1) It lowers the car by 7/8" to give you a more aggressive look 2) it replaces your old worn out/16 year old struts 3) it retains the OEM springs for an excellent handling and ride 4) it's the most cost effective solution

Hapa88, thanks for the info. One question, do you think I will have enough clearance with the new setup 215/35/18 and 265/30/19 that I will eliminate rubbing of the inner fender liner. Or do you think modifications will still be necessary to eliminate the rubbing completely? I do like your idea of lowering it. Is lowering it 7/8" going to produce more rubbing? Is this a size that you have ran before or seen run before? I'm trying to avoid buying new rims and tires and still running into problems.

Thanks for all the info. I am very pleased with I purchased. I ended up getting 18x8 Bright Sil w/Polished Lip O.Z. Racing Tuner System Superleggera III on the front and 19x10 Bright Sil w/Polished Lip O.Z. Racing Tuner System Superleggera III on the rear. I went with 215/35ZR 18 Continental ExtremeContact DWS on the front and 265/30ZR 19 Continental ExtremeContact DWS on the rear. I took the NSX through the canyon and I can tell you absolutely no wheel scrubbing on any part of the vehicle.thumb_IMG_3124_1024.jpgthumb_IMG_3127_1024.jpgthumb_IMG_3126_1024.jpg

Yes, you should have enough clearance with the new wheels and tires (assuming you got the correct offset). The reason you were experiencing rubbing was the incorrect tire sizes on your original set.
The front 225/35/18 was too wide
The rear 255/40/19 was WAY too tall.
