i searched the forums and couldnt find anything on this. for some reason i have noticed a rev limiter at around 7500 rpms, i have a few friends that drive hondas and they said that it does that when the engine is not warmed up but it was already warmed up. is this a normal thing? sorry if i sound stupid but i dont know alot about these cars and am just wondering.

Is your car an automatic? The automatic NSX has a 7500 RPM rev limiter.

If not, I suppose it's also possible that your car was an automatic and was converted to a manual. Check the VIN.

I wouldn't jump into any car and try to hit the rev limiter right off the bat. You should at least let the car warm up a couple of minutes before doing that. Other wise you could possibly do engine damage due to oil not having had time to circulate and cause undue wear on it.

I also believe if you have a bad temp sensor that it would not read the right temp therefore tell your ecu that it is not warmed up yet . That might be your culprit.

my car is a manual, and it was already warmed up to optimal temperature. how can i tell if the car was converted from automatic? if this is the case, then what can i do to fix it?

If the seventh digit of the VIN (vehicle identification number) is a 2, it started life as an automatic. (1, a manual.)

Get a new or used transmission installed.
