$1000 is the list price. I got mine from Gunn Acura when Tracy was still the parts man to goto, for about $600 and change. Based on how long the original one worked before it went south, the one that's in there now should be good until at least the next decade. I passed on the option of getting a used one, because at the time, we didn't know it was simply a lubrication problem, and I didn't want a used one to go out after a year or two. I got some of the $$$ back when I sold the used circuit board and speedo, so it wasn't so bad.
