Found a car that was part of a collection...It is in new condition...It might have 3-4 small rock chips. This car has 3k miles on it. What would be the resale value of this car. Owner is asking an unreasonable amount at this time. I would like to counter offer with a true market value offer. Red/ black/ black interior. All stock...even has original tires and new replacement recall tires in the plastic. The car is production # 145 and owner doesn't know anything about snap ring or window motor problems. Appreciate all input. Car would be nice to own...at the rigth price.

They can ask what they want but an educated buyer will not pay more then he or she has to... unless they feel it is worth the extra money ... just let him sit on the car for a while .... if he really wants to get rid of it he will have to re think his asking price .....as for the other things like snap ring and last scheduled maintenace performed ....if he hasnt done any of this since he has had the car well he will probably be in need of new belts and hoses and all the major fluids changed to start with and as for the tires they have a shelf life as well and if they were not recently obtained the tires may not be safe to use... if u do a search you can find out how to decifer the born on date of the tire and evaluate how old the tire is as i remember reading a post on this some time ago ..... im sure ive missed a few things and others will chime in

Gary, I'm dying to look at this car! Please let me know if you buy it, or look at it again. I promise I won't make an offer on it, I just want to see what an 11-year old, 3k mile car looks like!

As Lud had mentioned in your other post, some of the "low mileage" cars have traded hands for over $40k, and one I know of was sold at $50k.

The car is worth whatever you're willing to pay, and whatever the seller is willing to let it go for.

I picked up a brand new '92 2 years ago from my dealer with very low miles. I have no regrets and love the fact that it still has low miles(less than the one you're picking up). Take your time and decide if you want a car in this condition, it's not for everyone.

Good Luck!
