Replacing speed sensor. Where does it go?

Having some issues with TCS. Wanted to test what some people said works fine even though it's a cheap part.
I bought this:

Have checked here & the manual. Don't see where this is supposed to installed.

IIRC, I think there's even a better one with a picture of where it is but I can't find it. I think the advice was to try to access it from below but that didn't work for me. I got at it from driver's side but there's lots of stuff in the way which will tear up your arm if you're not careful.

This goes into the assy on top of the trans, just to the rear of the serial number on the clutch housing. But.....for the early years this sensor has a pigtail wire that connects about 8" from the actual sensor. The one in the pic is for a newer model, 1993 up.

It is not clear to me what year the car is....

Notice the wire on the sensor vs. the plug end on top of the one you have in the picture.

FYI, just read a thread from long ago and it was stated that the non-pigtail part will work if you move the wire.....

There is one bolt holding the entire assy to the trans. I typically remove that, then bring the assy to the bench to change the sensor. Maybe an hour or less....

I have a question to those with experience replacing the NSX vehicle speed sensor (VSS). Is it easier to replace the VSS unit (78410-SV4-003) held by two 10mm bolts, or replace the entire VSS assembly (79420-SL0-000) held by one single bolt? The VSS assembly part (79420-SL0-000) has a gear spindle, and I'm curious if that is a challenge to take out and insert back in with a brand new OEM part. Anyone with insight on this?

I would just replace the top electric unit, especially with the engine in the car. I did that job in my apartment parking lot with basic hand tools. Not hard at all. There's really no need to change out the spindle shaft that connects with the differential gear.
