I am trying to help out some guys who are converting a Canadian Acura NSX to a European one.
Now, we are running into a strange problem and we are trying to find a solution.
Car in question is a silver 1991 NSX.

We changed the complete ECU unit, and the dashboard as well to have a Km/hour instead of Mph meters.

Now, with the European km odometer in the car, the SRS lights comes on when the ignition key is turned.
However, if we put back the original odometer (mileage) back in place, the SRS lights comes on and stays on all the time.

I have tried to find something in the manual, but there is NO logical link between the odometer and anything that has to do with the SRS-system.

Does anyone have any idea what the cause (and solution) might be ??

Check the yellow SRS harness connector under the steering column;).

What is the steering wheel configuration? Unforunately I only have a service manual for US models, so details I cannot help you with, but the light senses the airbag being connected and I beleive also that the inertia sensors up front in the nose are connected.

While going back to mph did you also go back to the OEM ECU?

Check the fuses also.

Canadian NSXs are in Km/H not MPH...
