OK according to the manual I have to take off the compliance pivot assembly? Is there any other way?? I'm having difficulty separating the ball joints from the arms too. Do I have to go rent an old school fork or try to find the tool they show on the book

This is my first time attempting this so I could use some pointers before messing something up. Any members in Sacramento that can help??

Thanks in advance

Haven't personally pulled apart the NSX suspension, but to get balljoints apart I get a friend to apply pressure with a pry bar to the arm pulling the balljoint 'out' of it's tapered hole, then I take a hammer and whack the part that houses the hole it goes through. The shock from the hammer slowly rattles the tapered fit loose and the pressure applied helps it to pop once it's ready to pop.

A fork tool is great to pop balljoints when you're replacing the joint and don't care about the boot, but if you need to reuse the joint and don't want a marred boot, try that method.

I've never tried the dual hammer technique in this video (or bracing it like some comments say), but it gets the idea across of where to smack it.

Of course there's the concern of putting extreme force on parts of the suspension / cracking aluminum parts.. be smart about it, don't use the 10lb sledge. In the last 10 odd years in industry I've never damaged knuckles/etc, nor have I seen them damaged by other techs.

Hope that helps a little!

Did you succeed at getting it apart?
