I have to replace the locking release lever. Got the new one and it came with 2 keys...don't want to use new keys and would like to swap out the old lock into the new lever. Has anyone done this? Couldn't find it in the search.
Thanks in advance,
Tytus
Update: I figured it out. To remove the lock you need to rotate the cir-clip that holds it in place with a small screw driver so you can see the ends of the cir-clip. Using Cir-clip pliers set on interior open the cir-clip while pushing down gently. Remove the cir-clip with the small screwdriver and pull out the lock after inserting the key into it. Repeat on the new lever and re-install the cir-clip to keep the lock in place. Now you don't have to carry an extra key that comes with the new lever. Be careful not to use too much pressure when pushing down on the cir-clip or it will deform.
