Anybody have any experience dealing with egg marks. Eventually my car got egged and ended up with 2 egg marks due to the impact. The egg mark seems pretty deep and took off some paint...Any good ideas of repair... other than getting the whole piece repainted

The egg marks I've seen - tiny chips in an oval pattern outlining where it hit - are such that I would get the whole piece repainted. They're just too many and therefore too conspicuous for touch-up paint.

you can have a spot job done but unfortunatly if the clear coat is gone.. theres not many options.. u can also try touch up but ya.. it may be obvious. Repairing/refinishing the entire panel will be the best but thats also the most expensive

this is a very sore subject for me.my car was egged the DAY I got her by some little 10 year old brats down on the clearwater beach causeway.the impact was such that it popped my side blinker out of the socket.when I stopped the kids were gone but not the comet shaped serrated mark left on driver front panel.forget about spot painting it.I need to get the whole panel painted.what a bummer.I will post an image of the damage.

I think i'm gonna wait till later to get the hood repainted in the future. But i was curious if i can just try to touch it up w/ touch up paint. my plans since it is a oval specular damage.

1. Clean and remove wax
2. use touch up pain and repaint the area.
3. let it dry and sit
4. use 1500/2000 grift sand paper and wet sand it down
5. buff with 3m rubbing compound
4. Polish/wax

Do you guys think this will do the job? or at least put a decent looking finish on it?
