Hi

Hi i wonder if someone could help me

my door mirror broke into 2 pieces (foot, housing) and now i wanna try and repair it, the aluminium tube(?) snapped inside the housing/foot

did anyone here repair the door mirror? if so..would anyone share some information and give some tips and tricks?

thanks

Stef, do you have a picture? What exactly broke on it? There's a metal tube and spring inside that creates tension between base and mirror, I think. Is that what broke?

yes that part broke..the "tube"

the base and housing is undamaged

is it possible to repair this..or do i need to buy a new mirror?

thanks for replying

Stef, you should be able to replace that tube with something from your mechanic or hardware store... It's threaded on the outside, right? Have you removed the base yet?

ill try and figure out something and then ill update this thread

thanks

Have you fixed the mirror yet? Its quite easy. Fixed mine myself. If you have any, and I mean any problems just call me. Save lots of time in thinking. Im what they call a problem solver. And I have had a lot of problems.

hi there...you are bringing a quite old thread back to life

yes my doormirrors are repaired...i broke both(!) doormirrors within a month last summer....first one was probably vandalism..the second was all my fault...i borrowed my neighbours garage when i was gonna try and fix the first one!...lack of sleep, long working week..you all can imagine what happend when i drove into the garage..anyway it belongs in the past..they are fixed and function 100%
