Any suggestions on where to have my timing belt and water pump replaced in central Florida? The closest Acura dealer is in Orlando. This is over 50 miles from Kennedy Space Center. Should a Honda service center be equally accredited?

I wouldn't have this done anywhere except an Acura dealer or an independent mechanic who has done it several times before. Arrange in advance for a loaner for the day, and drive the 50 miles. (If you don't want to drive back home during the day, it's not like there's nothing to do in the Orlando area while your car is being serviced.

)

Also keep in mind that members of the NSX Club of America receive a 15 percent discount on service at Don Mealey Acura and Fountain Acura, both in Orlando. The discount on a timing belt and water pump replacement will more than pay for your membership dues. In the Orlando area, both Fountain Acura and Don Mealey Acura have NSX master techs. The master tech at Don Mealey is Nabil Armily but he is out sick with an injury. I'm not sure who is currently the tech at Fountain Acura (they bought out Courtesy Acura) but call and talk to Melanie in service and she can give you his name. You will receive a 15% discount on parts and service if you are a current NSXCA member at either dealership. This is a significant discount on a job like a timing belt replacement.

For independent shops, call Bob Fournier at 407-898-8002. He and his master tech Carl have done several timing belt changes, mine most recently in May. Although he doesn't have a loaner car, he may be able to arrange for one at additional cost. You may want to get an estimate from both his shop and the dealer to compare prices.

Thanks for the guidance nsxtasy. A loaner or rent a car is probably the route I will take even though a day or two in Orlando would probably be a nice break.
