Heard a rattle when opening my trunk so I checked the five screws holding the light in place.
The light seemed to be loose so I removed the screws and found out four of the five tabs were broken off.
The pic shows three of the broken ones
I've not heard of this before and not sure how four of five tabs could have been broken.
In any event has anyone tried a repair of this?

Use epoxy. I use it to fix all my tabs on my cars.

Thanks for your suggestion but you may not have noticed that the tabs are not cleanly broken off so gluing is not an option.
The tabs need to be reconstructed and that's where I need help.

You could use JB Steelstick http://www.jbweld.com/product/j-b-steelstik/ to rebuild the tabs. I've used it in similar applications and it works great! It's an epoxy putty that you can form and mold, like plastic, before it hardens but once it hardens, it's like a rock! You can sand it or file it and even tap holes into it. Great stuff

Looks perfect for what I need!
Thanks Wade
