Removing Zanardi Shift Knob

[BJV]

When I try to unscrew the shift knob in my Zanardi the boot twists with the knob. Is there a secret to getting the knob off without destroying the boot?

The Zanardi has a Ti knob and I can't see the clips mentioned in the article. Hmm...
