removing side mirror motors...

I did a search - and could not find anything. I also checked the service manual.

I'm trying to pull the adjustment motors out of the side mirrors so I can have just the shells painted. Has anyone done this? I've got the motor loose, but it seem like a part is press fit on and must be pryed apart before it comes out.

Anyone tried this?

figured it out.

FYI, once you've pulled the mirror out, if you twist the mirror housing on it's spring mount - you'll expose the screws to take it apart.
