I got the rear wing off, but need help with the wiring. I found where you can disconnect the wires under the rear window garnish. I disconnected them. They have the little metal tabs on the end. Do I have to get new ones to wire it again? Do you have to pull the wires through the black casing?
Help.

The harness disconnects at the spoiler. The connector is tucked into the cavity to which the wires run.

Thanks. I found the disconnect there. My new spoiler wiring just ends with bare wires. Do I have to buy new metal connector tabs? Just confused as to how to connect it now.

I believe you disconnected the spoiler wire wrong. There should be no bare clips. They should've stayed inthe plug end. CDX is correct. There is a plug tucked in the spoiler that you could've used.

I snipped the OEM plug off the spoiler and reused it on the new spoiler.

Sorry not a DIY guy here. What I'm asking is - do i need to buy new metal clips that the wires are crimped to, that clip into the plastic housing?

When you unplugged it, did you pull the male/female plugs apart or did you just pull the wires out of the plug?

Both. I figured I could just pull the wires out and plug in the new wires, but the new wires dont have the metal clips to secure them in the plug.
Here's a pic of the metal clips from the stock spoiler...

Yes, you can simply attach new wire connectors to the end of the new spoiler to attach to the OEM harness. Be sure to test the wires to get the wire hookup correct.

Yes you pulled the wrong part out, LOL. They do look ok though. They should snap back in place.

Ok this is as clear as mud to me. Can you describe in detail how I attach the bare wires from the new spoiler to the existing connector? If I plug those metal clips back in, the original spoiler is going to be attached to my car again.
Sorry if I'm being really dumb here, but usually a changed light bulb with no injuries calls for a week long celebration.

You have two options:

1. Find/Purchase replacement pins to crimp onto the ends of the new wire. I believe that those pins come in different sizes, but I'm not sure. If you know someone who has an AEM EMS, that person may have some extra pins laying around.

2. (Probably what most do) Reinsert the wires from the original spoiler into the connector, cut the wires, and solder them to the wires on the new spoiler.

If you don't have solder gun avail. you can pick up a couple of butt connectors at Autozone.

I dont know much about the spoiler but i do about the solder. That is the best bet. I solder the wires, then wrap in electrical tape. If i think there may be water around, i also put hot glue or something on that.

The pins used are common on other Hondas (but different than the ECU connectors). You can find them used on most exterior plugs. If you do not wish to cut the wires on your factory spoiler, you can locate two of these pins at a salvage yard and cut the pin back from the harness by an inch or two or locate an exact plug (it should be very common on any 2 pin exterior body Honda plugs). Remove the factory spoiler side plug's internal guide (white) and plug housing (grey) - you've already done this. Then, solder / butt connect the two wires to the end of the aftermarket spoiler and insert the pins into the factory spoiler side's plug. You'll now have a plug-and-play solution with out any damage to the factory spoiler.
