I have an aftermarket header and want to remove the oil pan to weld a baffle in it. As I can not remove the second part of the stock manifol, do I have to remove the front header totaly from the car (which means moving the suspension beam away) or is it possible to remove the oil pan by unscrewing the header from the cylinder head and slide it a little bit away ?

Thanks

Yeah I went through this exact situation last night. I've got a DC sports header in there, and the tech had to remove it before he could pull the pan.

Yes, thats why I changed my pan gasket before install. They should make them like motorcycle headers, 2 pieces connected by springs.

why cant you remove the piping under the oil pan?

take a big brake bar on it. they are usually difficult but not impossable.
