Has anyone had any specific experience with a remanufactured factory nsx clutch? I just purchased a relined dual disc clutch that has been resurfaced with Raybestos linings. It looks good and the pressure plate has been tested and found to be within spec. I know that the disc contact areas need to be resurfaced, but my main concern is the thickness of the discs. Does anyone know how thick is too thick when it comes to relined clutch discs on a factory dual disc clutch?

Specs are in the service manual available here:

Page 12-14 has the lining thickness specs.

Relining the clutch disk is only half the job. Unfortunately the center hubs/ springs are notorious for breaking on rebuilt disks(and many "in service" clutch failures). Changing the lining is not a complete refurb. You should start with new disks if you want a long lasting rebuild. JMO.

how much do you save by using a reman'd clutch? Judging from the hassle it is to chance the clutch Im sure youd be better off just starting with a brand new one. If it fails it will be a pain in the ass to replace again.
