For those of you who have seen a NSX with a red interior, whattya think?

Does it seem to stand out too much or look dated?

I have only seen one NSX with a red interior and the carpet, trim and seats didn't seem to match real well. The car was not taken very good care of so I didn't know if that was the real issue????

How about a Red Exterior/Red Interior NSX?

Color-coded interiors are a fine balancing line between tasteful and overdone. I have seen some examples of cars that look like it could have been ordered from the factory and some examples that look like the car had been in an interior fire and the owner replaced every piece of fabric with spare curtains that they had sitting around the house.

I tend to think that less is more in this case... red stitches, red accents, small sections of red leather (like the center of the seats or a NSX embroidery in the headrest)... all tend to look much better than red carpet, red door panels, red floor mats, red center console replacement and red seats...

If the whole interior is red, then I think it looks cheesy and dated. I have seen a completely red interior of the 993 turbo and I think it looks like crap.
On the other hand, red leather seats with red inserts mix with black console like the E46 M3 imola red interior is very nice. I almost bought an alpine white E46 M3 with red interior before I bought my NSX but someone bought it before me.

I like em both - OEM and Oyagi's. Now if the car was red - I would change my mind. That would be too much red!

+1, I agree, and red is my favorite color.

I think the colors that work with red interiors would be white, black, silver and yellow. Just can't picture the others but maybe someone will prove me wrong.

Black / Red looks good, although I've never seen one in person

I drove from Phoenix to El Paso to look at this car in November. This is the only red interior NSX I had ever seen. I really didn't like it.

Seems like it sold way cheap...$51k for a 2002 with 12k miles. Maybe the red interior scared everyone away!

A 2002 Red NSX with red interior was recently sold. See link for pics. The jury is still out for me on the red interior, almost seems to be too much red. Perhaps black floor mats would help.

I am thinking about a Red/Red 2005 with 12k miles I located. He wants $65k plus it would cost me another $2k to ship it.

I am concerned there is too much redddddd however!

Might make it very difficult to sell.

The red leather looks like vinyl and kinda scares me. Now, if I wanted to dump a quick grand into it, red seats with black inserts (or vice-versa) might break it up a bit.

Maybe change a few of the interior pieces with black?

Does anyone know how much it would cost to replace the red door panels and trim pieces next to the drivers seat?

Red and Red interior? That will be def too much IMO. You could photoshop/cover it with red wrapper and see? Not the best option but gives an idea.

You could put it on floor or change wheel to have some red to give it a sport look.

White/Ivory could be a nicer option or mix match?

I would still buy it, i think there will be a lot of people who would be willing to pay top dollar for red interior pieces. It took me a long time to find someone with red oem seats and then another 2 months to get him in to selling mood.

There was only 21 cars made with red interior...

OEM Red interior. Float your boat?

my opine...

The OEM '02+ NSX-T red leather is gorgeous in-person (reminds me of crimson). So much so, that a major car magazine was enthralled w/ the appeal of the '02+ models' interior color-spec's offered by Acura (namely Honda), at the time.

If I was in the marketplace for an '02+ NSX-T w/ the factory red interior, especially if it was New Formula Red exterior, I would get the MOV'IT NSX-R black carpet/trim kit, and go w/ MOV'IT NSX-R black floor-mats or OEM black floor-mats ('02+ black or Zanardi).

And at-most (not sure, need to ponder further), I'd may be get OEM black rear-cowl/firewall panels from another NSX. Or go w/ some black/anthracite/dark-graphite perforated Alcantara / Ultra-Suede & cover up those panels, and match the door-panel inserts w/ that as well. Heck even consider the A/B interior pillars & other related roof-liner trim (dunno what all T-top interiors have that could be covered in terms of above-the-head areas...).

There are numerous high-quality trim overlay offerings from 3M/DuPont/etc which can also add texture/color to other trim that you wish to change (door-cowl trim, door-panel lower trim, etc). I don't just mean pseudo-CF, but other unique desired trim-finishes ala' Mercedes Benz AMG-Designo, Aston Martin, etc.

Lastly, all of the changes above are relatively inexpensive & reversible cosmetic alterations, thus keeping the original panels/trim for posterity's sake & return-to-stock-appearance if so compelled, someday. . .

I've not seen a 2002-2005 Acura NSX with a red interior.

NSX production numbers 2002-2005 were so few. Balancing line? All it requires is ONE NSX enthusiast who wishes his/her own color combo.

the 02-05 red interior is awesome! but very very rare

Exactly. Rare.

The 02+ red interior looks better in person than in pictures.

Exactly. Did we mention rare?

Man that looks horrible...I think that's going to look dated before the early 90's Formula red/black interior NSX's will.

clr 1024 I respect your perspective but disagree here.

So Rob, buy your next NSX in black, silver or red then, for cheap.

As others have said, go F360 now.

Dunno what to respond. Matching colors in NSX'ville are horrid?

Osiris = Voice of reason. Well thought out. Well stated. Unlike me.

Just my opinion as I am an NSX matching interior fan.

What about Monte Carlo Blue w/red interior? Sloooow work in progress but im going with carpet and inserts in rojo and the seats all black. May end up switching the inserts to black depending how it goes...

red vehicle interiors are for drivers who want to return to the womb.

blue + red = purple?

What about Monte Carlo Blue w/red interior?
That's quite the bold power-move in terms of exterior/interior contrast! I guess if other accessories & details (interior lighting, exterior lights as-in lens/filters-diffusers/etc), calipers/wheels/lugs/stems, engine-bay, interior fascia/trim surfaces, and what else are also thought-out & planned - it'll all be rather interesting in the end!

Personally speaking, the colors that "call to me" (so to speak) & those that I always would wish to spec' w/ regards to exotic sportscars & ultra-lux GT's are dark metallic silvers (exterior) & deep glossy blacks (exterior) and dark UV blues (interior) & dark rich maroons (interior). To many, such combo's would be wack or odd, but it's all in one's preference - but, of-course if done right!
