Hello again folks!

Last month I introduced myself to the NSX community in LV and now that my family and the NSX are finally in the local area I wanted ask about your recommendations for servicing the NSX.

On the drive out here, I found out that she was leaking a bit...err a bunch of oil out the back. I'd say about 1 qt every 200 or so miles. The oil appears to be coming out of the passenger side of the vehicle. It is clean and unburnt. I do not see any fumes or smoke. The remaining oil is pristine and there were no signs of burning, over-heating or any other functional problems. She drives without any mechanical issues minus the leaking oil.

I posted the question a few days back on the owner's discussion section and people ventured guesses to the oil filter seal, oil pan seal, oil pressure line, oil valve cover gasket, cam seals, and figure 8 oil filter housing.

Using the "SEARCH" button, Findlay Acura dealership in Henderson, Adrian Ramos and Honda Doctors seem to have been recommended.

1. Any updates to the local list? I live in Henderson and wanted something close if possible.
2. Anyone have the number to Adrian Ramos?
3. Lastly, what do I have to do to join the LV NSX club to get the service discount at Findlay Acura?

Thank you in advance.

Cheers,

Cheers,

You can go to Findley Acura and tell them you are a member of NSX club of Las Vegas. They will automatically give you discount on everything including parts and labor. I believe it's as much as 15 to25% if i'm not mistaken. C&C this weekend if you're interested.

I second the Findlay Acura recommendation. Factory certified work has some degree of importance on a car like the NSX. Findlay Acura provides excellent quality service, and they are easy to deal with. They also provide a car for you to drive when your car is being serviced. They do all the work on my '97 NSX.

Edit:

Oh; and I almost forgot to mention that Findlay Acura is the sole sponsor of The Las Vegas NSX Club. They provide big discounts on parts and labor, they also allow us to use their conference room for meetings, and have even catered food for our meetings on several occasions! This is some major league support for our NSX community ladies and gentlemen. Also if we receive the bid for NSXPO 2010, Findlay Acura will help us host this large event. I don't see how anyone could do much more for the NSX community than Findlay Acura has. Obviously you may support whatever repair facility you choose, but let's not forget who supports us.

Well my opinion is depending on where you live in vegas determines where i go for service. I am not gonna throw anyone under the bus. I live in the NW so everything is pretty much far for me. For service i use Jarrod at Hondoctors he has worked on my car since i bought it and he has always helped out whenever i had a question and my friends have been going to him for years. Findlay acura is for my OEM parts as its almost a 45 min drive. and i have also spoke with Adrian at German motors about any major issue i might have and he seemed interested about helping if i had any questions. And mikey was actually the first person to look at my car as VEGASSPEED took it to him for a diagnostic and he seems to remember the condition of the car prior to me purchasing.

So in a nutshell....... everyone in vegas is very competent in servicing your NSX. It all depends on where you live. But since i live up north I prefer Hondoctors!!!!! Great job great people and great prices....

Follow up / closure thread:

I decided to go to Findlay Acura. Talked to Andy and he was very helpful and seemed to genuinely like the NSX for it's history, performance and their dedicated fans. He gladly accepted the request for LV NSX Club discount.
Apparently, my cam seals had walked out. Parts were like 150$, but the labor was about what you'd expect for a timing belt change @ 1500$. I wonder how many other cam seal issues there have been for the NSX....
It's still burning off some of the residual splattered oil when parked on an uphill slope (even after they steam washed it twice), but she runs and sounds great. And no oil drips even after 10 or so 6k+ RPM spool ups on the freeway.

Thanks again to everyone for the help and support, NSXPrime forum is, bar none, the most helpful forum that I know of. Looking forward to participating in future Cars and Coffee.

On a side note, the red 95 or 96 NSX in the Findlay Acura sold. Didn't ask how much it sold for, but it sure looked mint in the showroom. I also saw a white one that apparently sold from Luxury Motorworks or Motorcars LV that was there for a once over before the owner was to drive it out to Chicago.

Cheers and here's to more 8K pulls on 2nd gear.

Mike Angel will still do work on NSX cars. He does good work but be warned it may take a little longer. He will do a Timing Belt/Water Pump fix for $1600 as I recall. That was when he his garage out near Russell and Decatur. He did do the compression test for that yellow 97'. PM me if you need to get ahold of him for some work.

That white one was mine and was sold by Motorcars Las Vegas. Andy had it last weekend and was doing a PPI for me...he basically told me the car was in excellent condition, I purchased the car based on his recommendation and inspection.

I was very pleased with the service and communication Findlay gave me, and if ever I'm in Vegas and the car needs some attention they will definitely do it for me.

Also, FWIW, I was very pleased with my interactions with Motorcars LV. They had no problem getting the car over to Findlay for a 3rd party PPI and were very patient in dealing with my numerous calls with questions. When it comes time for a low mileage Vanquish, I'll call them first. ;)

Anyway, glad you were directed to Findlay, I was impressed with them.
