recommendation for all in one office printer?

need a recommendation for an office printer that's all in one.

need fax, scanner, printer, copier with networking.
- the printer will be connected to a hub, not a pc
- should be able to fax from a pc (over the network)
- scan to a network share


im looking at a dell 1600 but can't find any sites with reviews of small office gear, just home stuff. thanks!

we have an hp 7310something... like it a great deal: fast draft, nice color output, multiple memory card slots, network connection (may have wireless, i haven't looked), form feed, double sided printing, etc. got it at costco for next to nothing.

thanks, i have a 6210 at home and the drivers are a piece of crap, so i saw the 7310 but was concerned about that. (i was a "delta-tester" for the 6210 and got it from HP for free, but i'd never buy one). is yours networked? do you have full functionality from every pc in the office without it actually being plugged into a pc?

any idea how many pages of black you get out of a print cart? they look like the same print carts i use for my 6210 and they're pretty small (not to mention kind of expensive). i do love the idea that this is wireless and has a duplexer.

yes, we've got ours networked between 3-5 systems in the house. i don't know how many black pages we get per cartridge - we only produce draft docs so run on fast draft ~95% of the time. (and, to be truthful, my view is since we like the unit, "it is what it is"

We have a brother MFC8820D in our ofice and it is good. It is B&W only on print though. I am in the process of opening my own offiice and I will probably go with a Brother all in one. We have as Dell all in one at home and is just not up to par if you use it a lot. Ours is still pretty new and it has paper jams pretty easy. I think overall it is annoying. The brother all in one is a laser printer.

I would NOT recommend the HP All-In-One wireless printers 2510 & 2710. I have them and they are always having wireless network connection issues. When they do work, they work great but they do not work consistently.

I have the 7310xi from Costco. Some of the ones manufactured from March to June 2004 had a defect in the feeder; I retuned the first to Costco and got another one in May and same problem with the feeder ......... ! HP finally acknowledged the problem and sent me a new one and since then it has worked well.

The 7310xi is not wireless but you can make it such with printer wireless adapter (I believe they run $45) or connect it to the router with an ethernet to make it such - that is what I did. The 7410 is wireless and has two trays; otherwise they are similar. Both have the capacity to copy legal size document whereas the 6210 does not. There are two black cartridges for this model - the one that comes with it is the larger volume and you can but one that has less ink volume (Costco selle them packaged) or the larger volume. It really depends on how much you print and how oftern. The cartridge tedns to dry if not in use in 3 days just wipe the surface with wet tissue and it is good to go again.

Look for any HP with DTn series. D-Duplex, T-Tray, n-Networking.

I would look at alternatives before recommending HP. While HP has the name, their low-end products have questionable reliability and stability issues IMHO. The problems dont usually surface until after one year. But then again, there are cheaper brands you could do worse with.

thanks but already ordered everything, it was supposed to arrive yesterday but UPS tracking shows an exception for a customs security check. It came from newegg.com and was shipped from Jersey.... those customs guys must really be bored if they're seizing printer boxes from Jersey.
