The LED indicating that the back window is not latched stays on. Consequently I cannot set my alarm or lock the car with my remote. I disconnected the cable to the switch hoping that would help but to no avail. Anyone have an idea on a part number or has someone else experienced this problem and found a workaround. I did a search but came up empty.

Thanks in advance

Per page 133-6 of the ETM for '95-'96 model years, the system looks for a closed circuit to indicated the glass ("Engine Compartment Lid") is open. However, the manuals sometimes have errors. I.e. perhaps a closed circuit means the glass is closed.

I'd try a short across the two switch leads (yel/red and blk), or simply a short from the yel/red lead to ground.

Also inspect the switch tab and adjustment for the indicator:).

For the 1991 manual it is on page 20-53 "stricker adjustment". Actually the pic in the book is kind of odd, but you will get the point:). The "stricker" is a long threaded screw with a locknut to set the depth correctly.

Hey guys thanks for you help this matter. I have checked and tried both options suggested however, the problem remains. I was in Las Vegas for three days and stopped in to finnily the Acura but they could not diagnose the problem. I personally tested the switch and it is good so the problem is occurring before the switch apparently. I also found out there's a sensor somewhere in that line but don't know where it is.

I also wondered if possibly this could be a fuse issue. Still looking for help thanks...
