I have a pair of each of these that I would like to sell and was wondering if there was an accurate way to test these when they are not mounted on the car??? They are tough to compress by hand but will that be sufficient enough to hold up the trunk ?

Thanks

If they are used they have likely lost pressure. Even if they are unused through time gas leaks past the seals. Its not worth selling without testing them mounted because old ones will still have alot of resistance by hand but will fail with the weight if the glass or trunk with spoiler.

Acura parts websites or amayama or mita. Mita is willing to price match so if you been wanting something else from them I would get it from them since they support the Nsx community.

i got the front lip from mita already

is $90 for oem rear the right part?

Yeah thats for the glass hatch struts and youll need to order 2 as they are single. Have someone help you hold the glass hatch while you put them in because breaking that would be expensive.

excellent thank you so much

Both the glass hatch and the trunk lid are very heavy when leveraged, you are not going to be able to test by hand. You would need some type of compression tester to know for sure. Those struts can be rebuilt (re-pressurized) by StrutWise so there is definitely a market for them, just know that whoever buys them will need to spend $200 USD to get both sets (4 struts total) rebuilt, so price your used set accordingly. See this thread for comparative pricing on struts already rebuilt.

Strutwise even "supercharged" my trunk lid struts more than OEM pressure to hold the large rear wing I have mounted.

is there a reason to rebuild instead of buying new?

Slightly cheaper cost and as mentioned you can have them supercharged above OEM specs.

How much more to supercharge them and whether that would shorten the life of the struts?
Don't know how much more, I told him I wanted them supercharged at the very start of our conversation and he gave me a quote. Extremely happy with the final product.
